1/2 Marathon Training plan
The first is the Trent Waldron Glacier on May 24. Just 4 weeks away....uh oh!
The second is the Big Wild Life on August 17.
My goal is sub 2 hours for both. GO ME!!!
I found both races on the 2014 Anchorage Runner's Calendar.
I am a usually a solo runner so it will be great to feel the adrenaline of the crowd. I haven't run in an official race since the Turkey Trot in Detroit in 2008. I ran that 10k (6.21371 miles) in 01:05:25 at a pace of 10:31. Not too bad but I do remember taking a verrryyyy loooonnnggg nap afterwards.
I am running at about 9:05 right now so I am pleased with my progress. Of course very non-linear progress. Ha Ha Ha. I would like to time a quicker pace....we shall see :).
I am currently tracking my runs on MapMyRun as "Suncluster".
My training plan is a composite of collected information that I have found on the Internet and running magazine. I have built a routine of LONG miles, tempo runs, speed work, and easy runs. I am also riding my bike every Monday (all aboard the cross train. Whoo Whoo). And on my official rest day, Friday, which is also known as "drink beer" day I do a yoga DVD with my husband. I really look forward to this time. It is a great time to stretch, relax, and to really feel where my body is at.

What I have already completed is highlighted in red. As you can see sometimes life gets in the way of my plans and that is Okay!
