I remember when the glacier used to be a lot bigger (wider and more massive view from the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor's Center). There's quite a bit more exposed rock now (top left & bottom right) from when I arrived in Juneau 2 years ago.
Hiked out to Point Brigid Saturday and stayed at the Blue Mussel cabin . Very cold winds on the hike out but the cabin was warm and toasty, eventually. The high winds blew up the surf which was a beautiful site. You can see the ice forming on the rocks (below) from the spray. We all had a great time watching the waves inside the cabin.
